Q : What is a NISS and do i need one ?

A : NISS (Número de Identificação da Segurança Social) which can also be called Social Security Identification Number, in simpler terms. NISS is required to register with social services and to access social benefits and services (unemployment, health, pension, work related disability, etc.). NISS is required for all in Portugal working as employees or self employed.

Q : How long does it take to receive a NISS ?

A : 7-20  working days, sometimes longer if the Portuguese Segurança Social is experiencing delays.

What’s the process of obtaining a NISS with M Global?

A : Place an order on our website, submit your documents and sign the provided Power of Attorney. Your signature should be same as displayed on the Passport. We processes your request with the Portuguese Segurança Social office in Portugal and you will receive your NISS, Password.

Q : How do I send a copy of my passport?

Passport copy should include both the photo and signature pages in full, and your hands should not be visible.
